Elwood Resident Publishes First Book, Reads at Doniphan County Library

Melanie C. Davis, of Elwood published her first children’s book in December of 2020, and it can be found on Amazon. The cast of characters in “The A, B, C ’s of Me” book is a cheerful, diverse group who love to guide readers through the alphabet using words that can help them develop a positive self-image and self-confidence. The first in its series, “The A, B, C’s of Me” is a great book for parents, teachers, school counselors and therapists who seek to cultivate a growth mindset in young people. Recently, in June 2021, Davis had the opportunity to read her book to area children during the Doniphan County Library District #1 story time event at each of the four library branches. Davis is a mother of five whose mission as an author is to share stories that fuel compassion, understanding and acceptance.
